Where Are They Now?

Kathy and Ginger Treece

It's not uncommon, but always special to hear
about that individual who provides service to
others in their "professional career" and also
extends that same dedication to their volunteer
activities.  Such is the case with Kathy Treece
with her partner, Ginger.
tricks.  Learning new tricks allows Ginger to focus her energy.  The rewards are numerous,
staff, and patients.  Regular monthly visits take place at Fairview University Hospital, Abbott
Northwestern, Minneapolis Children’s, Women’s Advocates Shelter, and the Nokomis branch
of the Minneapolis Public Library.   Kathy’s view on their activity… “It is wonderful to have the
opportunity to share Ginger with people that obviously enjoy her.  There are smiles and
laughter, kind words, photos, and paintings/drawings of Ginger.  Visiting is the most
rewarding activity that I share with Ginger.”

Spare time?  Not a chance.  To continue promoting the human-animal bond connection, Kathy
expanded her activities to include becoming a tester/observer for Therapy Dogs, Inc. and a
member of R.E.A.D.
