North Star Therapy Animal's currently carries a
membership of approximately 58 teams with the
emphasis on service and education. There is a
strong presence in the metropolitan librarian system
with the focus on literacy. Children practice their
reading and comprehension skills by reading to their
eager furry listeners. Other areas of service are at
Methodist Hospital, Ronald McDonald, Woman's
shelters, Mpls. Children's Hospital, schools, and
assisted care residences. This group meets every
two months and typical has guest speakers
addressing issues of interest to handlers or about
their partners.
